Each volume consists of selected papers presented at the annual conference on applied philosophy held at Bowling Green from 1979 to 1986. The Philosophical Commitments of International Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution . The possible applications of conflict resolution ideas to peace studies are then examined in terms of the major stages of a conflict: its emergence, escalation, de-escalation, and settlement. All this is done for each ofihe major sources of international conflict: domestic, international context, and the relationship between the adversaries.
