El Dorado, originally El Hombre Dorado ("The Golden Man") or El Rey Dorado ("The Golden King"), was the term used by the Spanish Empire to describe a mythical tribal chief (zipa) of the Muisca people, an indigenous people of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense of Colombia, who, as an initiation rite, covered himself with gold dust and submerged in Lake Guatavita. The legends surrounding El Dorado changed over time, as it went from being a man, to a city, to a kingdom, and then finally to an empire.

What treasures will he find during his journey? The Treasure of El Dorado is the action-filled story of Andre's discoveries and his deepened connection to the past. The book can be used to teach students how to make inferences and draw conclusions as well as to summarize to better understand the text.

  • I bought this having heard about it somewhere. Unfortunately only a quarter of the way thru it, its ringing like a dead broken bell. This supposed rich guy who hides behind a pseudonym, well its hard to buy what he is selling. So, one day this voice in his shows up claiming to be El Dorado, right? He didn't react to it at all, just started asking "it" questions, instead of freaking out and wondering if he was having serious mental problems, or was the victim of a MILAB incident, or someone slipped him some LSD? So the questions he asked and the answers he got are very obviously in the same voice, HIS voice, his style of writing, it seems very obvious to me that he is making this stuff up. Its probably some old guy who is heavily into "ascended masters" and decided to write a fictional story and then say it really happened. We have seen this kind of thing before. The voice in his head begins relating biblical personalities and events that have never been proven to have ever existed or ever happened. I used to attend a channeling group headed by this old lady who channeled "the masters." The information was just general lovey dovey New Agey bland stuff she had written down before we got there. It didn't feel right to me. Then one week she had a guest speaker, someone who never wrote a book or went public. Her story was truly fascinating, she had been in an accident and was in a coma for over a full year. She was a college student, and when she was in her coma she was fully conscious on the other side and met her idol who was a famous writer when alive. She was worried about missing her school work so she attended classes in her energy body, for the entire year. When she finally came out of the coma she took her exams and passed them all with flying colors. I asked her had she seen any ascended masters and she said NO. She said the closest thing she had ever come across that explained her nonphysical existence while her body was in coma, was the Jane Roberts Seth material. Something I was enamored with and which rang heavily true for me. I never went back to those meetings and I think the whole ascended masters trip is from chanelling work done back in the 1800's, it was right for its time but it rings hollow in our times and I've never met or read anyone who actually experienced them, so this book is of that genre. I'll skip through it and see what else the book has to say, but its a piece of fictional work, never happened.

  • Without a doubt, The Treasure of El Dorado is one of my most precious books. One that can be read and re-read time and again and always a new message will be received. It is a "timeless" book with eternal metaphysical information about achieving the Mastery of Life.
Joseph Whitfield is the psudoname of Lee Blount, a financial businessman who was highly regarded in the upper circles of banking and the financial world in Washington, DC. He was approached by his Inner Self to receive the information for this book, which not only amazed him, but changed his life forever.
He also wrote another, equally revealing book called The Eternal Quest, one that reveals more of who we really are in the grand scheme of the eternal world.
It is often said that "When the student is ready, the Master will appear."
So here is the student's "lesson" book. Each chapter reveals important life lessons that are repeated timelessly throughout the ages.

  • The Treasure of El Dorado a n d The Eternal Quest: A Mystical Story of Love
    by Adruum (Joseph Whitfield)

A Review of two books by Taansen Fairmont Sumeru

    June 1985

The Realization of Enlightenment so well known in Eastern traditions has manifested as well in the Western being named Adruum, or El Dorado, whose American name is confidential to preserve the privacy so necessary to his work. His pen name is Joseph Whitfield. As of this writing, we have not met physically, but we have been blessed with extensive mutual correspondence through the mail since 1983, a couple of phone calls, and a lot of very interesting psychic communion, with "Joseph" and his consort, Debi.
Prior to his early retirement in 1979, Joseph Whitfield was a Vice President of a billion dollar financial institution. He also received recognition as an outstanding citizen and community leader. He was listed in "Who's Who in Finance and Industry", and has been the recipient of many unsought awards for service to his fellow man.
The primary material vehicle for the transmission of his wisdom during this phase of his life has been through his books, The Treasure of El Dorado and The Eternal Quest: A Mystical Story of Love. Since publication of The Treasure of El Dorado in 1977, the author has resigned from his position in business to live in semi-seclusion in Virginia and devote full time to his work in the Divine Plan.
His first book, The Treasure of El Dorado, firmly established him as a gifted writer in the field of metaphysics. His ability to present abstract esoteric concepts in a fluent and informative manner to the layman, has made that book an international classic in over forty countries on six continents. In it he says: "Where should you turn when you seek for Truth? You should turn within, where Truth seeks you! This is a story of the greatest treasure hunt in the history of Earth. It is a successful hunt. Never before has a treasure of greater magnitude been found.
"This book is a chronicle of the discovery of the vast and virtually unrecorded Treasure of El Dorado; the legendary hoard that, before now, had been unsuccessfully sought for hundreds of years. You will find in this chronicle the revelations that led step by step to El Dorado's gold. It is a strange story. Oftentimes, it seems unrelated to treasure. In the end, you discover that the treasure is far greater than you could possibly have anticipated in the beginning."
    -- from the Preface
So easy to relate to is this book, that it includes the author's own story of transformation on the way to Self-Realization. The reader who has yet to understand or accept reincarnation and other metaphysical phenomena will journey with the author right from the beginning as the Ascended Masters gently tutored him via telepathy, leading him through physical purification, into some fantastic and glorious experiences, and finally into Realization.
There is a vast amount of other profound information in the book, unique insights, and subtle metamorphoses both in the text and between the lines. One of these is the theme itself, the treasure, which is literal, real, actual, physical, tangible, and futuristically educational. The incalculable material riches and scientific knowledge hidden in various parts of the Earth since Atlantis and Lemuria are destined to play a very crucial role in the supreme Divine Plan. The author is assisted into a re-awakening of awareness as part of the preparation for his role as custodian of this treasure, as appointed by the Supreme One and the Ascended Masters. This all happened in the 1960's and 70's on the East Coast of the usA.
In telling his story, he takes the reader through a recounting of powerful experiences with great Beings such as Sananda, whose incarnations include Jesus the Christ and Gautama the Buddha; such as the great Lord Michael, Kut Humi, Hilarion, Djwhal Khul, Saint Germain, Serapis Bey, San Cha, the spiritual Hierarchal Board of this solar system on Saturn, and El Dorado, "whose name is known throughout this solar system and beyond."
If there ever was one, this is THE piece of literature on the planet to give the true enlightened perspective on the way economics and prosperity are intended to be materialized by the Divine Plan in the Golden Age. In the process, an immense amount of other priceless education about life in general is compacted into only a little over 200 pages. After experiencing the power of this book, one can only agree with the statement of El Dorado: "Communication is the most important thing in the universe. The higher one's advancement of awareness, the more one realizes the truth of this statement."

Joseph Whitfield's second book, The Eternal Quest: A Mystical Story of Love, was published in 1983.

    From The Eternal Quest:

"This book is dedicated to LOVE,
    To the understanding of LOVE,
    To the act of LOVING,
    To all LOVERS,
And to the taming of the power of LOVE!" -- from the dedication

The title of this book -- The Eternal Quest -- does not in any way refer to an endless search, devoid of the attainment of the reward of the search. It refers to the purpose of Primal Being, Who came out of the eternity of timelessness, and became many, so that S/He could fulfill His/Her plan. Thus, this is none less than the Quest of the Almighty Beloved Supreme Primal One . . . a Quest which has its origin and destiny in that timeless condition we call Eternity. And this is a Quest which meets with fulfillment . . . infinite and eternal fulfillment.
Journey with the fabulous adventure of this Quest -- the true story of its unfoldment so far, and its expression on Earth and certain other planets. Gain profound insights into the many truths that make up the One Truth. Enjoy the acceleration of your own personal evolution and understanding through these incomparable cosmic messages.
And from Proteus, at the end of the book:
"Man laughs at his greatness in taming the atom, but man has tamed nothing and man is only a fool. When man can tame the power of LOVE, then man has tampered with power!"
