Indeed, an increasing number of radical right-wing parties and movements have become major players in European politics-the French National Front, the Hungarian Jobbik and the Greek Golden Dawn are just a few examples. Text: In recent years there has been a groundswell of nationalism and far-right extremism across Europe, allowing far-right political parties to gain power in several countries as well as representation in the European Parliament. Today there are more than 59 nationalist parties, 15 regionalist parties, more than 60 active st movements, and a growing radical right-wing extremist movements throughout the EU.

Most political analysts tend to agree about the rise of populism in Europe, and it has become a commonly used word in political discussions.
