  • As a guy who has recently "come out" and has been reading A LOT of books on the topic, I feel I'm in a good position to say this is the absolute worst book I've read!! The author is long-winded, the language seems dated, and frankly, the text didn't hold my interest past the first 10 pages. I threw it in the recycle bin before the second chapter. Hopefully, it will be recycled into something useful.

  • The book was written in the 1970s and describes the situation in the 1970s and the problems a gay man would face in coming out. I really don't think it was meant to be used as a guide for the gay man today. It has value both as a personal story and as an historical document of gay life in that period.
