A Sketch Comedy show produced by and starring Canadian comic Steve Smith, centered around the members of Possum Lodge, a backwoods hunting camp somewhere in Northern Ontario. It loosely parodies 'outdoor' TV shows generally, and the iconic Red Fisher Show (which ran in Canada from 1968-1989) in particular.

QUICK Driving Tip

No matter how lonely you are, never carry flares in your pants pocket.

The Possum fraternity is here and eager to share hard-won wisdome about this basic life-support system. Red and Harold can help you deal with everything from those bad sounds your car's been known to make to "7 Kinds of Smoke — and What They Mean." Dougie Franklin reveals all he knows about safe driving techniques, and Bill shows you how to theft-proof your car.

Red, Arnie Dogan, Winston Rothschild and Mike Hammar take a detour down a memory lane lined with memorable cars. Lodge members offer practical tips on what to do if your car won't start, doing your own car maintenance and how to make your car go faster. (They also provide helpful suggestions in case the cops pull you over.)

Handyman projects include turning your car into a tank, a fire engine or a jet-powered vehicle, and used for leftover car engines or hoods. And those lucky enough to ride with you can benefit from advice on How to Be a Good Passenger (or How to Hitchhike). Meanwhile, the Car Buffs tackle the question, "What was the best car ever made?"

Finally — men talk about what moves them.

  • Other than I love this comedian, the book was in perfect shape and arrived within mere days of the order!

  • It was given as a gift. Don't know how the recipient. liked it

  • The quality I got the book in is exactly as it was described. I am satisfied with my order and would definitely order again from there

  • great shape

  • MAN!! I had no idea of what was in store for me when I picked this book from the shelf. I read one page that was kinda funny and I thought it would be good. It turned out the it was so hilarious I was laughing so hard I could barely breath!!! I read the whole book in one day, and I loved it. The sheer stupidity of the book made it even more funny, with jokes about using engine parts to serve food and laying your tongue across the car battery terminals to test the battery. It had a wacky crossword puzzle that only the author could figure out because the clues made no sense, and that made it more funny. I would definately recommend this book.

  • The only guys I love more than Red Green when it comes to lifes philosophies are the Car Talk brothers (Click and Clack), especially when it come to cars. In spite of that, this book is hilarious. Red and his comrades still grasp the male attitude toward mechanical things.
