Twenty new nations have joined the World Curling Federation.

Profiles of players, listings of television coverage and events, and memorable curling shots also need to be updated for the second edition. • We just can't get into major sports, but occasionally we can catch curling on TV, and enjoy that sport--you can hear participants talking because they are miked, they act like ladies and gentlemen, and the games are fun to watch for all ages--coming up in the winter Olympics. However, figuring out the terms and scoring is challenging to those unfamiliar with the sport, so we purchased some books on curling, which helps us enjoy the finer points of the games.

  • I've been a curling fan since I was a kid, and a year ago I finally found the drive to join a league at a curling club located just a tad bit less than 90 minutes from my home. I enjoyed it and am now addicted.
This season my wife joined one of my leagues, and I purchased this book to help her adjustment to the sport. And while it was purchased for her, I found myself reading it as well. Much of what was in there, I already knew (I'm already to a point of preparing the ice for league play), but it never hurts to read what you think you know as confirmation. And, upon occasion, the book added some "that makes sense" thoughts through my head.

If you want to learn the basics and read it in a simplified yet fun way, this book is idea. And even if you've played for a few years and "think you know it anyway" it probably wouldn't hurt to read the book.

  • This book was a surprise. I bought it because I was looking for some books on curling and it was used, but a very reduced price. I have read other Dummies books and some were good and some were not that good. Curling For Dummies I found to be a good foundation book with really pretty decent content. Although I was not a curling greenhorn when I bought it, I found it to have a good breadth of solid information. I would recommend it as a curling primer. Good curling!

  • Purchased as a gift for a fledgling curling enthusiast who loved it. Stays true to the "for Dummies" line as it is chock full of useful information and helpful and sometimes funny insight into curling. If you are interested in curling or enjoy it already but aren't an expert, this book is perfect for you.

  • Very informative and helpful for both curling viewers/fans and those about to become curlers!

  • A fun, easy to read book that covers the sport of curling from A to Z. No stone is left unturned (no pun intended!). From the history of the sport to it's debut in the Olympics, this book covers it all. Rules and strategy are covered, as well as customs and courtesies that are common among the sport. This book is an absolute must for all beginner curlers and anyone who wants to know more about the game without being overwhelmed.

  • Just in time for the Winter Olympics! If you study this useful handbook to the art and skill of curling, you will appreciate its combination of physical probity, intellectual strength, and strategic incisiveness: chess on ice, indeed!

  • From the perspective of the person who curled for several years 8 years ago and is now getting back into the sport by founding a new club, this is a great book with a look of good info for both new and old curlers alike.

With all the press curling has gotten recently, good luck finding a copy.
