  • Kay Mitchell is a very fine writer and her use of the fox symbalism, fascinating. This was nearly un-put-downable mystery reading. True, the translating to e-book is faulty and irritating (mine also had the split names and odd misspellings), but the suspense, plotting, good description, well done characterizations are nicely realized. I wish Morrissy was more prominent, that there was more of his family, etc, but all in all, an excellent read. This is the third Mitchell I've read.

  • Missing the last chapters. No conclusion to the story. Most annoying. Two of the murders not explained. So no idea whodunit.

Had the above reply from Amazon, no offer of refund or promise to fix problem. Hopeless customer service. Does Amazon even read the reviews that are sent in?

  • I like Kay Mitchell's writing and I really like the Inspector Morrissey series but I found this particular book hard to follow. There were a lot of characters and I had a diffcult time remembering who had done what or where they fit in the story and I do not think it was me - I think it was the "disjointed" story. I did finish the book but it was a challenge. I did not find all of the printing errors that other reviews had mentioned - that was not the reason I had trouble following the stories. The description page of the book did not say haw many books in series or list them so I do not know where this book fits in chronological order, but nothing dramatic happened in Morissey's life, so you could skip this book without losing out on anything.

  • Couldn't read the book as the formatting was very wrong - but I had left it too late to return it as defective.

  • Once again a portion for foxes is a fast moving believable mystery that makes riveting reading - well done Kay

  • Actually this book bored me so much I don't remember much about it. But I do remember that its not about fox hunting or horses or anything I thought it would be.

  • The whole series is a lot of fun to read--the characters are not perfect lending a sense of reality to the stories. You find yourself wishing Chief Morrissey would do the right thing by his family; wanting him to get a break from his job so that he can set things right. He is a hero, but not a perfect one, as are his colleagues and family. Kay Mitchell also writes under Sarah Lacey--a light-hearted funny set of mysteries that are also worth the read!!!

  • I have enjoyed other books in this series but I could not read the Kindle version of this and I had to send it back. There were missing phrases, sentences and words throughout--I ordered a Sample afterwards and it had the same problem. At first, I thought Kay Mitchell had decided to get extremely arty and do a stream of consciousness type of book, but I later decided it was just a faulty copy. My OK rating was really based on her other books--the Kindle version was unreadable.
