Bury the Bishop - Kate Gallison. Chapter 1. Phyllis Wagonner was crying when she walked into Delio’s to meet Mother Grey for breakfast. Mother Grey observed this fact with a certain amount of un-Christlike irritation. Phyllis had relapsed into crying again, and Mother Grey would now have to abandon her plans for a peaceful breakfast of coffee, cranberry muffin, and The New York Times and deal with her somehow.

  • Very exciting mystery! Loved the characters, the romance between several characters, the possibilities for future stories. Detective Dogg is very humorous so I hope he sticks around. A bishop is murdered at a diocesan conference and it appears Mother Vinnie could be guilty. However as she investigates and learns more about the bishop the real murderer becomes nervous and turns to arson and kidnapping before getting his/her due. Looking forward to next book.

  • I really enjoyed this book & will be ordering more in the series. Mother Vinnie is a person I'd like to know--good but not too good. The only thing I had trouble believing was that she was only a size 6 but didn't work out. There was one bit of a coincidence, but coincidences do happen. I didn't know who killed the bishop until Vinnie did. Too many times with other books I'm disappointed that the detective is a bit dense.

  • A lot of fun. Would have rated it higher, but book had too many typos. Need better proof-reading. Nevertheless, I would enjoy reading another book by this author.

  • This is a new series for me but, even though I liked the book I don't think I'll ever read another one from this series. There are far better mystery series. I didn't particularly like the style nor the main characters. At times the book seemed to ramble and I would lose interest. I started and quit reading it once but threw it in the suitcase with others when I went on vacation. Had I not finished the other books I probably never would have read this one. I don't recommend it.

  • comfortable reading with likeable characters.

  • This was great fun, something light but catching. There were SO MANY typing errors that I finally started to highlight them... At least every other page.
