1981) (Book 12 in the . Room series) A novel by Peter Alding (Roderic Jeffries). June 1981 : USA Hardback. He re-read the night crime list. July 2018 : Paperback.

Peter James Edward Oldring (born August 25, 1979) is a Canadian voice actor, improviser, actor and comedian. Peter Oldring was born in Drayton Valley, Alberta. He graduated from Sir Winston Churchill High School in 1989 in Calgary, Alberta, and he studied at the National Theatre School of Canada. In addition to performing with The Second City improv group in Toronto and Los Angeles, Oldring has appeared on Canadian television.

A sudden wave of crime plagues a determined local inspector. A knot of seemingly unrelated crimes-an armed bank-truck robbery, a murder, and assassination threats on the life of an Iranian oil merchant-is deftly untangled by Detective Inspector Fusil.

Peter Alding is one of the many pen names of the immensely prolific Roderic Jeffries. In ''A Man Condemned,'' the strands come together in one case. All of the Alding books have Inspector Fusil as their hero. Here he has to guard an important, unpleasant Iranian, solve a bank robbery that culminates in murder, investigate the frame-up of a cop and seek out a terrorist. But this procedural is not of the Dell Shannon type, in which several unrelated cases are going on at once. The tough, uncompromising Fusil comes through brilliantly, as always. But this book is more novella.
