nothing in the living room. nothing in the dining room, Leonora intoned. As Nicky had anticipated, once the camera was focused on her, Leonora had turned into the consummate professional. As Nicky had anticipated, once the camera was focused on her, Leonora had turned into the consummate professional he was no newcomer to TV, after all, and she’d been a practicing professional psychic since the age of sixteen. Only someone as intimately acquainted with her as, say, her younger daughter, would have caught the nervous flicker in her eyes, the tension in her jaw, the jerkiness of her gestures. For whatever reason-psychic’s block or something else-Leonora was not on tonight.

Karen Robards is the author of more than thirty novels, most recently the New York Times bestseller Pursuit. Vanished by Karen Robards. You had better have tissues ready. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky. This one hits close to home. I am still wiping tears. Vanished is a sign of our troubled times. I think this is one of Robard's best and she is a terrific author.

Joyce Bean brings to life a pulse-pounding story line, using distinct voices for the feisty heroine, a sexy leading man, a colorful cast of secondary characters, a few ghosts, and a pig named Cleo, who loves bacon. When Bean describes flip-flops flapping, it's bound to tickle your alliteration bone.

Karen Robards (born August 24 in Louisville, Kentucky) is a best-selling author of over fifty novels. After first gaining recognition for her historical romances, Robards became one of the first historical romance novelists to successfully make the switch to contemporary romantic suspense.

A killer has come out of hiding in this haunting novel by New York Times bestselling author Karen Robards. A killer has come out of hiding in this haunting novel by New York Times bestselling author Karen Robards. This unsolved crime could be journalist Nicole Sullivan’s big break, so she works intimately with Police Chief Joe Franconi to get the story straight.

Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Sunny, idyllic, and picture-perfect, until a tabloid news program airs a splashy segment about the community’s only unsolved murder—the grisly stabbing of teenager Tara Mitchell and the subsequent disappearance of her two best friends, now thought to be long dead. In the years since the murders, several families have moved into the mansion where the crime occurred, each claiming that the dead girls still haunt the house. Beautiful redheaded reporter Nicole Sullivan, sensing the story that could be her big break, arranges for her mother, a renowned psychic, to contact the three victims in a live séance on the show Twenty-four Hours Investigates.

But something goes terribly wrong during the segment, and a young woman is murdered in the same manner as Tara Mitchell was fifteen years earlier. Pressured by her producers to get the inside story, Nicole continues to investigate. As an attraction grows between her and Police Chief Joe Franconi, another identical murder occurs, and a menacing warning is delivered that the original killer is back to claim three more lives. The body count rises, and so does the danger to Nicole, who is attacked, barely escaping with her life. She and Joe must team up, as it becomes clear that the killer has set his sights on her as his next victim.

  • Another very different plot by Robards about a news anchor for a national weekly show sort of like Dateline or 20/20. Another suspenseful read by Robards in which you won't figure out who the murderer is until the ending. She has a nice romantic plot with her mysteries.

  • I love books with a psychic story lines. I would have loved more along this line. I enjoyed the story anyway and it kept my attention throughout.

  • Interesting characters (some might say a few weird ones), a good story line,a fair amount of wit, a great deal of suspense, just enough twists and turns and a little romance makes for good reading, and Karen Robards provides all of this in Superstition. I found myself reading faster and faster to get all the answers. I'm sure you will like it as much as I did.

  • If you have checked the reviews on Karen's books, you'll see that I've read all her books. She is a fantastic author. If you are looking for a review of the book - not gonna happen here - just know that you will be engrossed, pleased, and happy to read any and all of her books.

  • I have read most of her books and this one kept me guessing totally up to the end. Just when you think you have it figured out and all is over, something else happens. Would recommend this to anyone who likes romance thrillers.

  • Has mix of everything from paranormal to dysfunctional family to betrayals and romance. Once started reading I did not want to put it down

  • Loved the story line and the characters! The bits about ghosts was not too overwhelming and added a bit of humor to the story! Definitely a wonderful read!

  • Wonderful a truly enjoyable author that is why I continue to buy her books I hope to read many more, of the same quality. Keep them coming forever.
