Sin embargo, ella tambien soporta una pena: lleva un ano siendo viuda. Desde que su marido se ahogo, se siente cada vez mas sola y asustada en la casa a las afueras de Estocolmo, y duerme con las luces encendidas. La casa estaba destinada a ser su hogar sonado, pero esta a un kilometro del vecino mas proximo. Un dia encuentra a una de sus pacientes, una mujer joven, flotando en el agua delante de su embarcadero. La policia encuentra una carta suicida en la que la muerta agradece a Siri por haberla ayudado a comprender que su vida no tenia sentido. El mundo de Siri se derrumba. Realmente es tan pesima terapeuta para sus pacientes? O acaso hay otra explicacion? Una extrana sensacion de que alguien la sigue empieza a tomar forma: la sensacion de que hay alguien en la oscuridad que la vigila y quiere hacerle dano. / Siri Bergman is a 34-year old psychologist who runs a private practice in central Stockholm together with her former classmate Anja, the older therapist Sven, and their receptionist Marianne. After her husbands death in a diving accident, Siri has lived alone in a cottage in an isolated area east of Stockholm. She has tried hard to convince herself that she has moved on, but her past is about to catch up with her. Even though she goes to bed leaving all the lights on and often has more than one glass of wine she is unable to shake the feeling that someone is watching her through the opaque windows at night. Isnt it a rotten time for her beloved cat to go missing? And why is someone sending her disquieting photos of herself?
