A haunting book that you return to over many years. I had to read the Diary of Anne Frank for my school exams; a few years later I read it again. Because Anne was not an English speaking person, diction and phraseology of translations are important. Furthermore she was a mid 20th century person and did not use 21st century phrases or idioms.

It is a story of a group of blind men, who have never come across an elephant before and who learn and conceptualize what the elephant is like by touching it. Each blind man feels a different part of the elephant's body, but only one part, such as the side or the tusk.
