The water-rich Superior National Forest includes more than 2,000 lakes and rivers that offer a chance to canoe, boat, fish and camp where early Native Americans, voyagers, missionaries, loggers and explorers once traveled. About a third of the Forest lies within the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). It wasnt until October 21, 1978, The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Act was established to provide specific guidance for managing the million plus acres of the Superior National Forest. • I like this map. Used it for planning. As others have noted, may not be the best for navigation in the BWCA (and doesn't claim to be), in fact I wouldn't recommend it for that - though in a pinch it would work. But great at getting the big picture, planning or just showing people where you are going, where you have been. Lasted in the exposed pocket of dry bag and is good as new.

  • Great product, couldn't have navigated the waters without it. Best to keep it in a clear waterproof sleeve tho.

  • The heavyweight, coated paper makes for a sturdy map that will survive a trip into the BWCAW (besides putting it in a map case). Good for planning routes along with Daniel Pauly's book "Exploring the Boundary Waters".

  • Great map

  • This is great for planning trips and routes. You still gotta get the detailed maps for navigation on your trip, but this is perfect for planning.

  • The heavy, coated paper will help it survive a trip to BWCAW (plus putting it in a map case). Great for planning and investigating routes.

  • Great map with good detail

  • Just received this map, and am excited to start some basic trip planning. Map I received says Revised 2013.
