For years, Birnbaum`s has just incorporated the "Dining Section" in the Guide to Walt Disney World, but this although thorough cannot cover the amount of material that is Disney Dining. When you go to Walt Disney World, there are two things that are very important, schedules of visiting the parks, and finding time to eat, and the right atmosphere to eat in..... Walt Disney World Dining Guide 2005 will explain every restaraunt in from the Magic Kingdom to Downtown Disney, which will help many people make easier decisions when choosing places to eat, and help them to enjoy their experience even more than they already will.....

I used a Birnbaum Disney guide many years ago and liked it. So I ignored some of the negative reviews and bought this book. I figured it would have additional useful information on restaurants that the comprehensive Disney guides would not have. I was wrong. I also bought The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2005 (great book!) and found its one chapter on Disney restaurants had all the information I needed. I didn't use the Birnbaum guide.

The food at Disney restaurants is great. If you don't have a comprehensive Disney guide and all you are interested in is the restaurants, then you will like this guide just fine.

What a joke !! This was a major disappointment and a waste of money. The general books on Walt Disney World cover the same basic Dining information plus more such as Frommer's Walt Disney World, The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World and even Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2005 provides better information. If you're planning to stay onsite, your Welcome Guide will give you the same basic Dining information. Also, you can actually get more Dining information online through such websites as [...]

Don't waste your money on this book. Any general book on Walt Disney World will do a better job in covering dining information at Disney.

This book was such a waste I returned it almost as soon as it arrived. You get just about as much info in the regular Birnbaum guide book, plus info on the parks and resorts. The dining guide really doesn't provide any info you can't get in the regular guide book. Save your time and money.

This book did not give very much info on the restaurants in Disney World. Just a quick overview. It didn't have reviews or anything of importance. I would NOT buy it again.

This book is very informative about the restaurants in disneyworld. The Dining Guide also helps in choosing which restaurants best suits your needs and budget

Birnbaum has turned Disneyworld into a cottage industry, rolling out "guide" after "guide" covering everything from motels to entertainment to, in this volume, food. As one reviewer so aptly notes, there is not a thing in here that someone with an IQ above 85 could not find out for themselves with a smidgen of research.

I have long decried Disneyworld and its clones as presenting the worst possible image of America to the outside world. My wife and I went the first month it opened when there was hope and expectations that a new vision of the future was in the offing. We took behind-the-scenes guided tours, talked to the designers and builders about food production, communications, travel and knowledge, ate at the (then) fabulous restaurants and had a wonderful time.

Years later we "won" a trip with our first son and noticed a qualitative change downward. The last time we returned with both boys we encountered a nightmare of horrible fast food at gourmet prices, dumbed-down exhibits, exorbitantly-priced souvenirs and the ubiquitous video games. One huge arcade was jammed from morning to night with folks who spent hundreds of dollars in order to...play video games.

This book gives almost no insight into either the background, philosphy (ha ha) or even ideas behind the packed restaurants. The idea of a peaceful union of disparate nations is mentioned then forgotten. I realize with the continual change it is difficult to be definitive but the prose about "fantastic seafood", "famous chefs" and "good times" definitely tilted toward the latter. I mean, how much reading to you need to learn that one must reservations early or that some restaurants are more suited for adults. And if you are want something on the serious, probing side - I almost said "intellectual" - well you can fuhgetaboutit.

I did not learn anything of significance from this little guide. In summary, this is a hack job for an outrageously expensive amusement park that still pretends to be something it is not. The book falls into that same category.
