I’m excited to be working with Catherine Palmer on a fiction series based on the concepts in my book The Four Seasons of Marriage. You hold in your hands the second book in this series. Sometimes we find ourselves in winter-discouraged, detached, and dissatisfied; other times we experience springtime, with its openness, hope, and anticipation.

Summer Breeze was just okay. I thought the first book was fairly well written but I felt this one was fairly poorly written. Also as a diabetic I thought it was totally irresponsible of the writers to make it part of the story line when they have NO idea what they were talking about

Summer Breeze was just okay. Also as a diabetic I thought it was totally irresponsible of the writers to make it part of the story line when they have NO idea what they were talking about. First of all the mother in the story has a son who is diabetic and collapses on the beach. She finds out that he has not eaten or checked his blood sugar. So she checks his blood sugar and finds that it is low so she gives him a shot of insulin

Summer Breeze, by Catherine Palmer and Gary Chapman, is one of a series of four novels based on the seasons of relationships described in Chapman's The Four Seasons of Marriage. This is the first of the series I've read but I'm definitely looking for the other three. Summer Breeze- Hot Topics. com User, July 31, 2007

  • Summer Breeze was just okay. I thought the first book was fairly well written but I felt this one was fairly poorly written. Also as a diabetic I thought it was totally irresponsible of the writers to make it part of the story line when they have NO idea what they were talking about. First of all the mother in the story has a son who is diabetic and collapses on the beach. She finds out that he has not eaten or checked his blood sugar. So she checks his blood sugar and finds that it is low so she gives him a shot of insulin. Insulin LOWERS blood sugar so giving a person with low blood sugar insulin would most likely KILL them. At the very least it would put them in a coma and do severe damage to their body. Also they inferred that type 1 diabetes is worse than type 2. Type 1 means a person doesn't make insulin or enough insulin. Type 2 means your body can't use the insulin you make. Both are just as serious and deadly as the other. It made me angry that writers would pass on such flawed information and that may have ruined the book some for me as well.

  • Great book. Great characters. Great truths about living out a life of faith among those who do not share a love or understanding of Christ! True to life and a Hallmark of happy happenings!

  • I appreciate the underlying themes of this series of the differences between the sexes and the importance of really listening to one another. However, it is obvious the authors did not do their research re: the treatment of Diabetes Type 1. It is a shame to see such blatant errors as giving insulin for low blood sugar. Despite these errors this series is worth reading.

  • I have Benin enjoying this series. Each story brings out ways how I can forgive and learn to be more compassionate. I recommend the series. Thank you.

  • I have enjoyed this series so much, I read it 2 times. The first time now in any order. The second time, it made more sense to me and I could identify with the couples as they grew in their marriage. As I approach my 50 years of marriage, I cherish my time with my husband and hold on the each moment we have together. Communication is everything.

  • I want more books in this series. They are the best books I have read in a long time.

  • great series
