Stabilization and solidification (S/S) is a soil remediation process by which contaminants are rendered immobile through . These additives not only serve to improve the performance of Portland cement as S/S reagents, but also help to cut down the cost.

Stabilization and solidification (S/S) is a soil remediation process by which contaminants are rendered immobile through reactions with additives or processes.

The effectiveness of replacing cement with rice husk ash (RHA) on the leachability of. .Stabilization and solidification of both inorganic and organic hazardous waste materials involves fundamentals of solution chemistry and theories of chemical bonding

The effectiveness of replacing cement with rice husk ash (RHA) on the leachability of copper from stabilized sediment was studied. RHA was added at 5, 10 15 and 20% and also cement was added at 10% throughout to the total dry weight of mixture, after which curing was undertaken at room atmosphere for 7, 14 and 28 days. Stabilization and solidification of both inorganic and organic hazardous waste materials involves fundamentals of solution chemistry and theories of chemical bonding. A logical approach to a S/S process would be to understand the chemical nature of the contaminants first, and then develop a binder that would do the job.
