  • This book chronicles the early years, following Byron Katie's transformation. Although seen through the eyes of her friend, another "seeker", and perhaps colored a little through that lens of her understanding, it nevertheless gives the reader a real sense of how utterly mind blowing the experience of enlightenment is, and how the duality of good and evil, can not longer exist following that experience. The journey back to "form", from what many viewed as a psychotic state, is how the "Work" was formed and is a priceless tool for transformation. This book should stay in print!

  • This is a fascinating book because it gives you a window into the workings of Katie's mind. I'm sure most people would think it way "out there", even people who do The Work. I can see why Stephen wouldn't want it to be in print. It is very raw Katie. After reading this book, I am more in awe than ever at Stephen's book 1000 Words For Joy.

  • I can understand why this is out of print, the concepts are difficult to accept, but essential to our dealing with reality! It is a great book! I am reading it for the second time!

  • An awesome nondual teachings book written soon after Byron Katie's awakening.... can be difficult reading for someone stuck in the belief that evil exists.
    I loved it.

  • I love this book. I felt like I was sitting with Katie, basking in her warmth and endless acceptance. It is a window on the world from Katie's eyes, and, for me, is a treasure alongside the writings of Nisgardatta and Tolle.

  • I understand why some people love this book. But we discontinued publication because Katie's answers were just for the occasion, which was a specialized gathering of advaita people. Katie's answers are always like a ball being thrown against a wall: the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection. When the questions were asked from that particular point of view, her answers met the questioners where they were. So the book has, and should have, a limited audience. For those of you who want to read a book whose where Katie's expression had deepened and matured (though the depth of her insight has not changed), I recommend "A Thousand Names for Joy." I don't know of a more profound and light-hearted book in all of literature.
    Stephen Mitchell

  • Byron Katie is a nutcase. Her "healing technique" is not healing at all, it's very harmful for victims of trauma to take responsibility for what happened to them. I saw an interview with her husband Stephen Mitchell and he made me want to vomit, he was so fake and effeminate. Is he a closet homosexual? There was something very creepy about him. I think that Byron Katie at one point, before she met her creepy husband was a more genuine and sincere person. Now she just pretends to be a saint. In my opinion she is a narcissist and an egomaniac.

I attended one of her workshops where she bragged for about an hour about how she would have given all her money to a homeless guy, but she didn't because she didn't have her checkbook with her. Can you imagine bragging about something that she didn't actually do? Ridiculous! Have you seen how much she charges for her workshops!!!! Ridiculously overpriced. If she was once a genuine person, she is now nothing but a money making machine.

I find Byron Katie and Stephen Mitchell disgusting.
