I read Edwin Silberstang's book a long time ago and I am pleased that his analyses and ideas are still around. Having read a number of books on casino gambling, I find that Silberstang's is the best. This man knows the math of the games and he also recommends usually good ways to play. He understands the gamblers too and knows that most of them are looking for "action" which is really just "more losses. and to UNDERSTAND it!

  • Very good book. Explains the games and the odds in a understandable manner.

  • Out of all the books that have ever been written about gambling seriously this one is as good as it gets. The book is divided into each game, the odds of each bet in a game and strategy for gambling knowing the odds of each bet. For those of you that walk into a casino knowing that you're going to either make a little bit of money or lose a little bit of money, occasionally making a lot of money or losing a lot of money, then this book is really perfect.

One of the biggest mistakes most people make gambling is not knowing when to stop. I don't know how often I've heard "I made a couple hundred bucks but gave it back to them. Big deal, it wasn't my money". Well, they're wrong. It was their money! Game money management is just as important as game strategy and bet strategy. This book does a nice job of introducing the bettor to all three components of all the casino games and gives someone a chance to actually know what they're doing.

The nicest thing communicated in the book are the odds of winning each game and the odds of winning each bet in that particular game. You don't have to be a mathematician to understand these since the math is already done, you just need to remember good bets versus bad bets. With a little practice and a little memorization, don't forget discipline, your experience at the casino, at the gaming tables in particular, will be much more enjoyable and, hopefully, more profitable.

Why this book isn't currently published is beyond me but there are plenty of used books available that are inexpensive. You can pick this thing up for under $5 and, believe me, if you're new to this kind of stuff this will pay for itself over and over again. Well worth the investment.

  • Well presented book first published in 1980 by someone who knows what they are writing about.
