Boothroyd's earlier books didn't really require a bibliography; the postcards spoke for themselves.

Boothroyd's earlier books didn't really require a bibliography; the postcards spoke for themselves. As his books have become more "serious" he might want to think about including some bibliographic data in future work. Based on his "Southern New England" book, his readership will go beyond postcard collectors to a larger d readership. One person found this helpful.

Southern Railway Southern Region of British Railways . The station was one of many casualties of the mass closure of British railway lines in the 1960s and 1970s; the last service was on 2 May 1964. It was served by the Salisbury and Dorset Junction Railway, a line running north–south, along the River Avon just to the West of the New Forest, connecting Salisbury to the North and Poole to the South, meeting the Southampton and Dorchester Railway at West Moors. The fictional Downton station of the early 20th century, depicted in the ITV drama series Downton Abbey, was created at Horsted Keynes on the Bluebell Railway in Sussex.

When I arrive at a railway station, I look for departures and arrivals boards to choose . Although on some lines tickets are sold on board of the train.

When I arrive at a railway station, I look for departures and arrivals boards to choose the train with a certain direction and convenient departure time. I usually book it in advance but if I haven't bought it earlier I wait in a queue at the booking-office. When I have enough time before the departure of the train or when I just plan a short stopover I have a great opportunity to go on a short trip around the city.
