Books related to A Girl Named Summer. This is indeed a good book that reminds you of what falling into first love feels like. It also reminds us that honesty is worthy and is still the best policy. A good book by my opinion. by Marie Ange on March 18, 2013.

When Summer Matthews learns that her new boyfriend, David Marshall, admires girl athletes, she lies and tells him she's a track runner, and begins training for a six-mile race in order to impress him
  • I've read everything Julie Garwood has written and have never been disappointed...intrigued to the point of distraction is usually the case. This short story about a young girls first encounter with love was delightful. Garwood's strength is in her ability to paint portraits of wonderful, caring, eclectic families whose members can make you laugh and cry and care enough about them to keep you reading until the last page has been turned. Although this book is geared for a younger audience I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lessons about being yourself for yourself instead of others are delightfully delivered and I would highly recommend this tome for young girls everywhere. Now I just have to find a few hard copies for my numerous nieces this Christmas. Thanks again Ms. Garwood for a few more hours of reading pleasure.

  • My favorite author in the world!!! This is her first book she's written and it was AMAZING!!! As a woman I can tell you I had some difficult times growing up and reaching puberty. It wasn't easy but what an amazing journey I had. Thank you Julie Garwood for blessing this world with your talent. You truly are One of a Kind!!!

  • Completing this book made it 100% I have read all of her books, she is an awesome author and her books hold your attention from page one to the end. I have read most of them several times.

  • The story was quite interesting, and the wisdom the grandfather imparted to the heroine was not only inspiring, but extremely well done. No preaching here; and the way the heroine learned from her grandfather could easily speak to teens trying to learn self confidence. Very well done!

  • Love this author's work

  • I love Julie Garwood and everything she writes however, if I had known this book was written for teenagers, I wouldn't have purchased it. It was a good read, a nice story of a young girl discovering what she thought was important, really wasn't and being true to oneself is sometimes a difficult life lesson.

  • Really enjoyed reading this story about teenagers. Teaches honesty and determination. The rewards when you set your goals and meet them. Have always loved Julie's books. Been reading for many years now.

  • This is a fun-filled story of teen age love and romance. The main character Summer is delightful.
I enjoyed how the author presented problems and had the characters work out the solution. Enjoy
    this book.
