Keeper of the Kingdom book. Ralles teaches the reader a little about computers by giving some steps on how to open Like any book published by a first-time author, I am always a little skeptical. But I was pleasantly surprised by the way the story rolled along and with the character development. The characters were easy to read about, as they were quite likable, and the situations they are placed in are quite exciting. The print is lager than normal, making it easier reading for the younger reader.

  • An interesting story

  • H.J. Ralles is the author Darok 9 has done it again. Just as any good book or video game should, Keeper of the Kingdom starts out with full force action and does not stop until the very end.
It is 2010 and a young boy, named Matt, gets pulled into the video game he is playing on his laptop computer. Now he is trapped in 2540 in a future were humans are ruled by computers and machines.
Can Matt help the Liberators outwit the robotic Cybergon Protectors just by using the information stored in his laptop computer? Once the humans are free will Matt be able to return to his own time?
Keeper of the Kingdom is a true attention grabber which will keep young people and the young at heart glued to the pages. This is the first in a series of Keeper Books by H.J. Ralles and it is a excellent beginning.

  • Great book! My 11 year old daughter insisted that I read this series of books. I am on number 2 right now. Keeper of the Kingdom is the first book in the series. I really enjoyed it! Great idea! The ending was really good and was a great way to lead into book 2. Maybe a little simple for adults, but I still enjoyed this book a lot! I can see why kids would really like it! We met the author about a year and a half ago. Very nice lady.

  • DO NOT BUY
If I could give this novel (by the loosest definition) a worse rating, I most definitely would. This whole series is lame and a terrible excuse for science fiction. Ralles makes it glaringly obvious that she knows nothing about technology or even basic science (EVERY living thing is a carbon based life form). The writing is horrible and completely boring, though I admit that I read the entire series (I was still in elementary school). You got me there Ralles, but I hope no one actually buys your books because it's the most disappointing thing I've ever read, and I've even read the entire Inheritance cycle. The ending is disgustingly horrible and will make you feel like you've wasted your time. It's one of those "Oh I woke up and it was all a dream" endings.

    DO NOT BUY
    SPOILER
The series ends with Matt waking up and realizing that he was just playtesting the game the entire time, he just forgot.

  • I thought this was an excellent book. Matt, a boy living in 2010, mysteriously finds himself a character in his own computer game. The game is based in Zaul in 2540 where humans are slaves controlled by the Cybergons. Matt's only chance of getting home again is to join them in their fight for freedom. The clever plot twists and turns. Any child with a fascination for computer games will be captivated by it. If you like to check what your children are reading you'll enjoy this book too!

  • I couldn't put it down. The author tells about Matt, Targon, Varl and the other characters so you feel you know them. I especially liked Protector 101. I can really imagine the Kingdom Zaul, the Gardens and the caves. "Keeper of the Kingdom" is a great book, and I was always excited to find out what happened next. Now that I finished the book, I miss Matt and the others. I hope there's another "Keeper of the Kingdom" coming soon!
